An important part of the staff role is to support our service users
who have complex needs and help them to manage their emotions.
So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to
utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.
Our dedicated staff team support our service users to learn and
develop their independence skills which includes tasks such as
shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community,
budgeting, taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring
to the role and we encourage staff to use their humour and sense of
fun and creativity in supporting our service users with day to day
life.
WHERE YOU WOULD WORK: NAVAN AND DRUMCONRATH DAY SERVICE
Navan and Drumconrath Day Service provide New Directions led supports
to adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. The services are
centrally located and within walking distance of local amenities. Our
services offer person centred individualised supports that encourages
personal development and active participation. Each of our service
users have programmes that are devised from their individual needs to
aid them in working towards or achieving their targeted outcomes.
Individual activity plans are person centred and meaningful with a
combination of both in scheme and community activities. Each service
is led by service user needs and also offers an opportunity to avail
of outreach and in reach services.
